Take a Seat

This is the entrance to the parking lot at the LA Mart building next to the Court House where I had to do Jury Duty. It's so big, they actually have the cars drive underneath it! Maybe somebody can leave a link in the comments as to what the heck this thing is all about :D

Lindo Oaxaca Restaurant - Authentic Oaxacan Food

Went to lunch with Dwayne, who I met while waiting around during jury duty, at the Lindo Oaxaca Restaurant on Washington Ave. Got a Tasajo Buritto and they brought chips with mole and cheese to the table - phenomenal! European Deluxe Sausage Kitchen

I'm not the only one in my place who like to eat... My roommate discovered this place called the European Deluxe Sausage Kitchen. He says they have an amazing selection, comparable prices and a vast knowledge of meats. He'll support this shop over any grocery store in LA!

As far as cheese goes... He's found this little place in Silverlake...

Hangin' with my lil' sis at Pinks (Jan 15th 2009)

Meridith came out to visit last year and we rode around LA with my crew on @brochington's bike (mine was down) and then topped off the evening with a trip to Hollywood's famous hot dog stand, Pink's.  I don't think I had a chance to stop in here when Adam came to town...

Every been? I think I love the Lord of the Rings dog :D

Skyy Spirits Los Angeles World Class Whiskey Tasting Event at Seven Grand

A little over a week ago, Kylafornia and I got a not-so-random invitation forwarded over by a fellow tech friend, Shan Bhardwaj.  As enticing as this invitation appeared, somehow it escaped my mind to follow the directions on the invite and RSVP until about 3 hours before the event...

"Featuring Glenrothes, Auchentoshan, Bowmore, Yamazaki, Glen Gariach, Glen Grant, Russell's Reserve, Wild Turkey, Tullamore Dew to name of few...." 

Yeah, we thought this sounded amazing.

My lack of communication created a minor complication, but it was sorted out by Karen Uppal, Skyy Spirits' On Premise Manager in Los Angeles. (Thanks Karen!) Kylafornia and I then showed up to one of Los Angeles' few whiskey bars, Seven Grand, where we were told it was a closed event... but fortunately, we were on the list.

Just a quick note:

Doug from Tullamore Dew introduced us to his Irish Whiskeys, they were fantastic and ranged greatly in both taste and price.  Unfortunately, we didn't get much video of the explanations, but take our word for it, Tullamore Dew, their everyday, come-home-from-work-whiskey is perfect for any occasion.  And if you've ever wondered, you can read about the difference between Irish Whiskey and Scotch Whiskey on their site.

Any whiskey lovers out there? What whiskey can you not live without?
